INTERIOR, WESTERN AND NORTHERN HALF OF VITI LEUVU [FROM MOMI-NADI TO
BA/TAVUA, INTERIOR BA/NADROGA/NAVOSA] AND VANUA LEVU.

A HEAVY RAIN ALERT REMAINS IN FORCE FOR THE EASTERN HALF OF VITI LEVU
[FROM SERUA/NAMOSI THROUGH NAVUA TO NAUSORI, TAILEVU, NAITASIRI AND
RA], NORTHERN DIVISION, CENTRAL AND NORTHERN LAU INCLUDING
LOMAIVITI GROUP.

Situation: A trough of low pressure with associated cloud and rain
remains slow moving over Fiji. It is expected to gradually drift
northwards and affect the group until tomorrow.
Forecast to midnight tomorrow for the Fiji group:
Occasional rain, heavy at times and few thunderstorms over Eastern
Half of Viti Levu [From Serua-Namosi through Suva to Tailevu north
including interior of Tailevu, Naitasiri and Ra], Northern Division,
Central and Northern Lau including Lomaiviti groups.
Cloudy periods with brief showers and afternoon evening showers and
thunderstorms over interior and Western parts of Viti Levu.
Elsewhere, partly cloudy with afternoon or evening showers.
Afternoon or evening severe thunderstorms with heavy falls likely.
Localised and persistent heavy falls may lead to flash flooding of
low lying and flood prone areas.
Moderate to fresh easterly winds.
Moderate to rough seas.
Outlook for Saturday : Cloudy periods with some showers over
Serua-Namosi, Navua-Suva-Nausori, Tailevu, Naitasiri, Ra, Southern
Bua, Cakaudrove, Lau and Lomaiviti groups, Kadavu and nearby smaller
islands. Fine apart from brief afternoon or evening showers and
possible thunderstorms elsewhere.
Moderate southeasterly winds.
Moderate to rough seas..
For Navua / Suva / Nausori :
Occasional rain, heavy at times and few thunderstorms.
Outlook for Saturday : Cloudy periods with some showers.
For Nadi / Lautoka / Ba :
Cloudy periods with brief showers. Afternoon or evening thunderstorms
with heavy falls expected.
Outlook for Saturday : Fine apart from brief afternoon or evening
showers and possible thunderstorms.
For Sigatoka/Coral Coast:
Cloudy periods with brief showers. Afternoon or evening thunderstorms
with heavy falls expected.
Outlook for Saturday: Fine apart from brief afternoon or evening
showers and possible thunderstorms.
For Tavua/Rakiraki:
Occasional rain, heavy at times and few thunderstorms over Rakiraki.
Elsewhere, cloudy periods with brief showers. Afternoon or evening
thunderstorms with heavy falls expected.

For Yasawa/Mamanuca group:

Occasional rain, heavy at times and few thunderstorms

For Lau/ Lomaiviti:
Occasional rain, heavy at times and few thunderstorms over central
and northern Lau including Lomaiviti group. Cloudy periods with brief
showers elsewhere.

For Kadavu:
Partly cloudy with afternoon or evening showers. Afternoon or evening
severe thunderstorms with heavy falls likely.
Outlook for Saturday: Fine apart from brief afternoon or evening
showers and possible thunderstorms.
For Rotuma : Situation: An easterly wind flow prevails over Rotuma.
Meanwhile, a trough of low pressure lies slow moving to the southwest
of the island.
